There Was A Crooked Fence

Posted by Joyce (Montana, United States) on 18 November 2012 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

This is the road to Loch Leven, a river fishing access near where I have a job now and then. Fishing is pretty much over of course. What a day of colors and clouds and contrast huh? And dig that fence!

Thank you for your visit and comments.

Ronnie 2¢ from Atlantic Shores, United Kingdom

A scene like no other - if you had created it with line and brush and imagination, we'd say it could not exist. Yet, here it is. Pure magic.

18 Nov 2012 7:32am

@Ronnie 2¢: I softly shadowed the corners, like a frame, but otherwise it is what it was, the mountains under cloud cover, and sun on the snow and fence. I brake for stuff, you know? Thank you for your visits, and great input always, Ronnie.

Judy aka L@dybug from Brooksville, FL, United States

This is beautiful, Joyce! The colors are fantastic, and so are the light and the shadows. The line of the fence pulled me right in ... I love it! *****

@Judy aka L@dybug: Thanks so much Judy. So pleased that you like it too. I never know, but was really looking forward to hearing what people thought of this one because I love it, that fence and the sky.

19 Nov 2012 11:21pm

@Ronnie 2¢: Yeah! Who else so devotedly climbs around in the bushes, gets out in the windy and blizzarldly roads wading through weeds and ...and stepping on all manner of ... whatever... to try and focus on life and scenes for AM3, risking my butt out there...Now it's going to my head. (Even Arlo would sneer.) Thank you really, Ronnie.

SharonPleasants from Monroe, United States

Excellent photo. Has a magical feel to it. I like the angle. I like the leftover snow, the sky, and the mountains angling up toward the right. The fence is fantastic. 5 stars.

20 Nov 2012 5:33am

@SharonPleasants: Thank you so much, and for telling me just what you like about it. That teaches . All I knew really was that it felt very balanced and pleasing, and sort of fluid. After 2 years of collecting local images, and the great fun of hanging around on this site, learning from the pros, and the mavericks, like me, it feels wonderful to be acknowledged by everyone. Total high for me..

Just beautiful. My father was a watercolor artist, and he would've LOVED this view (as I do). So reminiscent of the images of my childhood, even though I never lived near a place like this. Thanks for your lovely photographs. Your portfolio is full of delight.
