Rabbit Tracks?

Posted by
Joyce (Montana, United States) on 18 February 2012 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio.

I'm not sure if it's a bunny, but "feels" like one doesn't it? I saw this up at Mammoth Hot Springs, in Yellowstone Park, with not too much glare on the snow. Messed around in processing but I decided to return it to it's original -- cool oddity as is: It looks convex doesn't it?

Thank you for your visit and comments. I so enjoy hearing from you and seeing the world through your lens.

Monik from PARIS, France

Je ne sais pas mais cela compose un très joli tableau abstrait! ;-)

@Monik: It is very eye catchy I think. Lately with the new snow, my eyes are on the ground a lot. The snowflake sparkles just arrest me. I feel like a 5 year old.

Slackwater Don from Spokane, United States

It does have an illusory quality that demands a second look. Nice concept and shot.

@Slackwater Don: One special bunny I'd say. Look at all the attention his footprints are getting.

Shar from Pilot Butte near Regina, SK, Canada

Yes, I too find it intriguing...well seen!

Nice! I know what you mean about playing with it in photoshop then going back to the original. Nice that we can experiment, huh? I think you are bunny right on.

@LauraS: I play in Photo program. Sometimes it just takes a tweak to make a photo jump out just right.

Jason Politte from Conway, AR, United States

Yep, those are rabbit tracks - we saw these in our yard a couple of years ago during a big snow and just couldn't figure out what kind of tracks they were until we googled it. I like how they lead the eye out of the frame.

@Jason Politte: Same wabbit?

Hiro from Kyoto, Japan

I don't know whose tracks these are... Thank you for sharing !

@Hiro: Rabbit it is, by popular AM3 vote.

Karen Politte from Conway, United States

hahahaha!! Yes - they are rabbit tracks! I know this because, as Jason mentioned, we saw the same exact things in OUR yard one winter when we had so much snow. I thought it was like some three-legged kangaroo or something......... crazy!!

@Karen Politte: This rabbit didn't know how entertaining his tracks would one day become. Apparently the same one that was in your yard huh? New special soft new snow outside has me looking down a lot, for tracks which are fascinating, and snowflake sparkles which make me awestruck. Last night I had a visitor. Fresh dog tracks right up to the front door. Probably.... a dog, but who knows? It occurred to me in the middle of the night that it was the spirit of the dog who recently passed away come to visit.

Calusarus from St Sorlin en Valloire, France

Very interesting tracks. Nice find. Thanks for sharing them with us
