Wintery 1

Posted by Joyce (Montana, United States) on 14 November 2012 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

Had some fun processing this, the cat's tree after the storm. I saw hints of color at the top and bottom so clicked on a little saturate to bring it out and then softened and then Lomo, I think. Not that it matters. I just very much like the feeling.

Thank you for your visit and comments. I so enjoy hearing from you and seeing the world through your lens.

Yes, I can sense the colors as much as see them and it definitely adds to the thrill of it all . . lucky cat !

@Ronnie 2¢: I am thinking how glad I am that snow and winter is here, after our hot and smoky summer, forgetting that these are the colors I will see now mostly, except for some intermittent blue sky. Winter is brown and white.

Doug from Burnham-on-Sea, United Kingdom

Lovely winter image and I love the processing Joyce, however you did it. (I can rarely remember what I do when I process, I think it's something to do with my age !)

@Doug: Thanks, glad you like though it is rather plain, no wild life in there, no bold splash of color, just winter cottonwood scene. I have to get used to it. And yes I always forget what I do in processing too. It's very creative experimenting.

Hiro from Kyoto, Japan

Wonderful processing ! You've got really lovely result.

I like the way they bow. To me it's a really nice picture. Don't freeze Joyce.

@sido: Thanks Sido. Yes you would like this. It's out of my comfort zone of wildlife and dogs and mountain peaks. :-D

Basile Pesso from Paris, France

I like ! Particularly the top left part.

@Basile Pesso: Merci Basile! I wonder why it came out mauve. Storm clouds sometimes have a purple cast. Must be a trick of light.

You have a great eye, Joyce. Love the alternating contrasts here.

Wonderful, soft, and quiet winter in the trees ... I love how the snow muffles sounds if there is no wind whistling through. Your processing worked, whatever you did!

An excellent composition. I like a lot the framing you have chosen. It has a kind of ethereal light.

Superbes la composition , les tonalités et le traitement . J'adore l'atmosphère de cette image!
L'hiver semble avoir pris possession des lieux... Plus de feuilles aux branches et dejà de la neige...
Bionne journée, Joyce!
